There are certain technical requirements needed to use the MailStreet Voice
service. Requirements are:
|
|
High Speed Internet Connection
A high speed Internet connection is required to use the MailStreet Voice solution. At a minimum, you will need a a high-speed cable or DSL connection to the Internet. For larger offices with many users, you may require additional bandwidth. The amount of bandwidth your organization needs will vary depending on your current Internet usage as well as the number of calls being made at the same time. Typically, voice traffic requires 85Kbps of bandwidth per call. Please contact a MailStreet Voice sales representative to discuss your bandwidth requirements.

MailStreet Voice Certified Telephones
In addition to a high-speed Internet connection, you will also need IP telephones to use the service. It is also possible to use a software-based (softphone) IP phone through a personal computer equipped with a microphone and headset.

Supported Call Router
In many situations, particularly where there are more than 5 users, we recommend the use of a voice traffic router. This piece of equipment will enable you to best utilize your existing bandwidth and will maximize your voice quality by prioritizing voice traffic over data traffic on your network.
