Service Overview
MailStreet
offers full IMAP Support for the Apple iPhone device.
The IMAP Protocol supports the synchronization of email folders between your
MailStreet Hosted Exchange account and your Apple iPhone.
Unfortunately,
the iPhone device currently
does not wirelessly synchronize Contacts, Calendars, Tasks or Notes. These items are only
synchronized via Apple's iTunes application that runs on your personal computer.
This is a limitation of the IMAP Protocol and the internal software that runs on the
iPhone device.
There are unconfirmed news reports that Apple will soon support the Microsoft
ActiveSync protocol. If and when this becomes a possibility, then MailStreet subscribers
would be able to sign up for Wireless ActiveSync and then would have the ability to wirelessly synchronize
Calendars, Contacts and Tasks. Until that happens the only supported messaging
technology is IMAP on the iPhone.
